The benefit of consuming whey continues. There is one more feather in the cap on consuming whey. First of all, it should be known that whey is derived from curd, so it is not a synthetically prepared protein supplement as people generally think it to be. Nonetheless, I don’t feel that supplementing with whey is a must. If adequate protein is consumed it may not be necessary to consume whey, but a few benefits of consuming whey cannot be ignored. It works very well as a post workout protein drink, for the absorption rate after a workout is good, as whey protein is a very fast acting protein. One of the other primary reason is convenience. I have personally felt that my immune system has improved after using whey. But protein consumed adequately from other sources like egg, poultry, skim milk, fish, sprouts, nuts and seeds will be truly beneficial than depending on whey protein alone.
