I am glad to announce that we have included a range of new equipment in the gym. I was able to get additional space and hence could afford to newer equipment. My team has been successful in manufacturing a prowler, yoke walk, canon wheel, sledge dragging unit, grappler, trap bar, safety squat bar, and many more sand bags. The prowler, sledge dragging, a huge tyre, and few more training modalities are carried, on Fridays to the ground and integrated with many high energy interval training protocols. Members of the gym are pleased to work with all this new equipment, as it has given a new dimension to the way we train. I am also planning to add few more new training modalities in the coming days. I will post videos of these workouts onto the website.

I had a previous video entry about Dustin Carter which is similar to this story of Kyle Maynard. Kyle was a high school wrestler and is the recipient of a 2004 ESPN Espy award for the Best Athlete with A Disability. Currently he works as a speaker for the Washington Speakers Bureau specializing in motivational speeches. He is also the author of his autobiography No Excuses: The True Story of a Cogenital Amputee Who Became a Champion in Wrestling and in Life.

I am surprised to know the pulse rate of this man, and listen to his speech. He says "When you think you are done, you're only 40 percent into what your body is capable of doing. That's just a limit we put on ourselves." He is right, as we underestimate the strength of the body and the mind. Many of us badly want to be in the comfort zone. We don't like to push ourselves to the unlimited strength we all possess. I hope you all enjoy the video.

Watch the video and please listen to his speech. I believe we don't need another inspirational story than this one. Look at the adversity this guy has to face each and every second of his life, but on the positive side he doesn't like to quit. I know that feeling down and the very next moment feeling good is a part of life, but we all can draw inspiration from these stories. More importantly, we need to constantly remind these stories to keep ourselves grounded. HA! But the irony of life is that we tend to forget. Anyway, I thought I will share this video with you all, for I thought that the story will evoke a positive note in us. As the guy in the video says "It matters how you finish. Are we going to finish it strong?" A very good message indeed. Enjoy.

Watch this young kid deadlifting. I guess he maybe around 4 or 5 years of age. What surprised me more was that his form was impeccable. His back is absolutely arched when he is lifting the weight off the ground and also when he is lowering it.
More importanty, a question asked by many is "Can children lift weights?" I believe you all know the answer now.

I have no words to express. I just want to say that my Daughter was watching me crying when I was seeing the video. She asked me why I was crying, and I just told her that I did so watching the video of these great men.

Another example of realizing our potential to the fullest. The example set by this lady is remarkable and unbelievable. At age 77, she is going strong and still competing in Ironman competition and setting up records. In these competitions, competitors have to run 26.2 miles, cycle 112 miles, and swim 2.4 miles. I can't imagine myself doing all this in a single day. Watch the video and know for yourself how she does all these feats. Above all, she has been competing for a reason. And it also is surprising to know that she started exercising when she was 50 years young.

Here is an article on protein-myths which has been written by a famous Author. William Brink is the Author of the book Bodybuilding Secrets Revealed. He has also written and still writes to many health magazines on various topics. He had first written on the protein-myth in 1995 and now with more scientific data he has tried to debunk the myths with more authority. Please read the whole article, but as always as my mentor, Todd, tells us that we have to take a grain of sand from these scientific findings, so careful analysis of these studies is needed before jumping into any conclusion. However, protein as a nutrient has always been on the receiving end to our chagrin.
